GALERIA MOKOTÓW SHOPPING MALL
The first shopping centres in Poland were founded in the 1990s. Currently, their owners are planning to modernise or extend the buildings. Difficulties related to the management of such an investment and construction site result from the fact that the facility has to operate during the daytime; therefore, the works have to be carried out at night. Consequently, the organisation of the construction site and the method statement must take these requirements into account.
OJL Group, in cooperation with SUD architectural design studio, participated in the extension of the Galeria Mokotów Shopping Mall in Warsaw. The abovementioned extension is currently the largest project of this type in Poland; it was carried out in a functioning shopping centre and included reconstruction of a part of the existing building (food court, restaurants and shops) on the area of 10 000 sq.m, and extension of the building by 6 000 sq.m. The construction lasted 14 months and the building was commissioned in 2013.
